Prof. Michael Goodfellow is a global authority in the field of
actinobacteria and his internationally significant research has fetched
him numerous honorary degrees and awards including the most
prestigious Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2010 New
Years honours list. His contributions to the field of novel antibiotic
discovery have impacted healthcare all over the world. He has around
forty years research funding from sponsors such as the European
Commission, Research Councils (BBSRC, ESRC, MRC and NERC), The
British Council and industrial concerns, notably Glaxo Smith Kline,
Novartis and Severn Trent Water (51 funded projects in total).
He has presented keynote lectures at hundreds of international symposia. He has been the Head of School
of Biology for Newcastle University and the Chair of the Bergey's Manual Trust. He also owns an antibiotic
discovery company based in Newcastle – 'Actinomics' and is involved with numerous other companies in
the field of antibiotic discovery. |

Professor Subhash Chand, currently affiliated to the Department of Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) is amongst the first generation of Biochemical Engineers in India. Besides pursuing an active R&D program in the area of Bioprocess Engineering, he has been actively associated with several Universities / Institutions, private and Government Science & Technology agencies for planning and development of academic programs, pursuing sponsored R&D projects and consultancy assignments. Prof. Chand adopted a unique approach to integrate the resources of manpower, raw materials, capacity in Science and Technology and entrepreneurship to evolve an optimal utilization of available resource base in India.
He has published more than eighty research / review papers in peer reviewed National / International journals, besides supervising fifteen doctoral students and about sixty students at M.Tech./ M.S.(Research) /M.Sc./ B.Tech. level. Besides organizing about a dozen National/ International Conferences and short term courses, he has delivered invited/ plenary lectures at several professional events in India. At IITD, since 1979, he has served in several professional capacities, e.g. Head of Department, Chairman, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Coordinator, Technology Development Mission Projects, President, Board for student Welfare etc. |

He has been instrumental in managing the development of world-classHealth Supplements, Skin care , hair care , shampoos, cosmetic, neutraceuticals and ayurvedic products. He was working as the Vice President & Head of Research & Development at Sanat Products Limited ( a subsidiary of Dabur India ) prior to joining Ozone Pharmaceuticals. |

Dr. Javed Ali has been bestowed with several honours, a few of them worth mentioning include The Indian Pharmaceutical Association Medal (1994), a Development Grant by International Pharmaceutical Federation, The Netherlands (2002), the SERC- fast track research project award for young scientists by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India (2003, 2006), the Motan Devi Dandiya Award in Pharmacy by the Prof. P. C. Dandidya Endowment trust (2004), the Career award for young Teachers by All India Council of Technical Education (2003), APTI-Young Pharmacy Teacher of the year (2004), by Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India and the BOYSCAST Fellowship of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India (2005), Prof. M.L. Khorana Memorial Prize for the year 2006 for the best paper in the field of Pharmaceutics & Bio-pharmaceutics, American Association of Indian Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAIPS) –IPA Distinguished Educator and Researcher Award 2007 at the Association meeting at San Diego, USA. In addition several best paper presentation awards at conference of IPGA , IPC and CRS Indian Chapter.
Dr. Ali has received research grants to the tune of more than Rs. 1.86 crores from UGC/ ICMR/ AYUSH/ AICTE/ DRDO/ DST/ FIP (The Netherlands), industries etc. He is supervising scientific research of the post graduation and the doctoral level. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation and Section Editor-Pharmaceutics to the Journal of Young Pharmacists, the official Publications of In Pharm Association and on the editorial board of Recent Patents on Materials Sciences, Benthem Sciences Publishers Ltd. |

Sanjeev Sharma is Professor and Head of the Biotechnology Department at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) University. Sanjeev held research positions in the laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, University of Goettingen, Germany, and in the unit of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Siena, Italy. He studied at the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College School of Medicine, University of London and University of Delhi, South Campus for his Ph.D and Masters Degree.
He was first to characterise and map the Neuromedin U gene and apply bioinformatics techniques to predict potential function (s) of this comparatively mysterious gene. Sanjeev's current research, which stems out of his work on an unexploited aspect of a neuroendocrine peptide, seeks to understand its role in reproduction.
His awards include Honorary Diploma of Imperial College in Biochemistry, British-Nehru Centenary Fellowship in Molecular Biology, British Council, Overseas Research Student Award of Association of Commonwealth Universities, Weston-Garfield Scholarship, U.K., Wingate Foundation Research Grant, U.K., and Junior Research Fellowship of University Grant Commission, India.
